Climate change and biodiversity are interlinked. We cannot limit average temperature rises without a vibrant ecosystem that includes animals, plants, fungi and microbes, all of which provide us with food, clean air, freshwater and medicines.

Biodiversity loss not only manifests itself as natural disasters, soil in which you cannot grow food and disease, but also through a decline in economic growth. Indeed, around half of global GDP is dependent on nature.

Plants play a crucial role in reducing the impact of climate change by removing carbon from the atmosphere. This meanscannot limit average temperature rises without reversing biodiversity loss.

Given the importance of biodiversity in building a sustainable future, portfolio institutional sat down with pension schemes, asset managers and a campaigner to discuss how institutional investors can factor it into their decision-making. The discussion can be read on the link below.
