The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) has appointed Emma Douglas, head of defined contribution (DC) at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), as chair of its new policy board.

The PLSA is set to launch its new policy board in the autumn, which will be aimed at providing strategic oversight of the organisation’s policy work programme to support its purpose of helping to improve retirement incomes.

Douglas has 20 years of experience in the pensions and investment management industries; she is also currently chair of PLSA’s existing Master Trust Committee and sits on the PLSA’s DC Council.

Before joining LGIM in 2014, she was a partner and head of Mercer Workplace Savings. Prior to that, she was head of DC Sales at Blackrock and head of DC Pensions at Threadneedle Investments.

Throughout the next few weeks, the PLSA will continue to appoint further members to its policy board. All appointments will be subject to membership approval at the PLSA’s annual general meeting in October.
