Buck Consultants principal and head of pensions policy, Kevin LeGrand, has left the firm after 28 years.
LeGrand (pictured) departed the company last week and is currently working as an independent consultant.
He told portfolio institutional: “After 28-plus years I am taking a little time to do some fresh thinking, and hopefully being involved in some of the debates coinciding with the new government’s initial period of policy formation. After that I will decide whether to continue alone, or to collaborate in some way.”
He added it was an “exciting” time to move on, with the change of government and new pension freedom changes creating an opportunity to be involved with higher level policy development.
LeGrand is also vice president of the Pensions Management Institute and a previous president of the Society of Pension Professionals (formerly the Society of Pension Consultants). He is also a judge on the portfolio institutional awards panel.
Buck Consultants senior marketing associate Selina Newcombe said there were no plans to replace LeGrand as his role would be covered by the Knowledge Source research team.
She added: “It is sad to see him go. He has been a fantastic spokesperson for us for over 28 years.”
