The HSBC Bank Pension Trust has appointed Sam Cobley to its investment team, portfolio institutional has learned.

The HSBC Bank Pension Trust has appointed Sam Cobley to its investment team, portfolio institutional has learned.

Cobley will join the in-house investment team of the bank’s pension fund on 20 April as a pensions investment analyst.

He joins from P-Solve, now part of the River and Mercantile Group, where he is an associate in the UK defined contribution (DC) team.

HSBC Bank Pension Trust chief investment officer Mark Thompson confirmed the move and said he was “very much looking forward to Sam joining the team”.

Cobley joins a three-strong team alongside Thompson and senior investment manager Richard Williams.

River and Mercantile was not available for comment at the time of publication.
