Investment adviser bfinance has hired Toby Goodworth to head up its risk management division.
Goodworth was previously head of risk at Key Asset Management and in his new role will work alongside former Key CIO Chris Jones, who joined bfinance as managing director and head of alternatives in January 2012.
The pair will work together to further develop bfinance’s alternatives offering, with Goodworth leading the risk management activities and Jones leading the hedge fund and alternatives services.
“Toby’s experience in constructing and running segregated client portfolios, and his expertise with regard to advisory and tailored solutions will be very valuable to our clients,” said Jones.
“His appointment, and the strengthening of our London-based Investment advisory team, is in line with the recent industry trend of investors allocating away from funds of hedge funds to segregated accounts or direct investments via expert consultant guidance.”
bfinance chief executive officer David Vafai, added: “As we continue to grow our team and develop our global capabilities, Toby is joining us to provide strategic guidance and expert risk management counsel. He is an excellent manager with a fantastic track record and his insights and market risk management philosophy will help our clients to rationalise their portfolios and execute their investment plans.”
