It’s that time of the year again where we try to predict what the big environmental, social and governance (ESG) themes will be in the year ahead.
ESG has been an evolving story since the 1980s when it largely meant not investing in weapons or South Africa. Today, it is about investors protecting the environment, reducing inequality and ensuring that companies are better governed.
We asked the members of our ESG Club what they expect to be discussing with institutional investors in 2023. It makes interesting reading. Solving the energy crisis, the cost of living, biodiversity, green bonds and the “enablers” could all feature.
You can read more detail on this, along with how Nest is integrated ESG into its portfolios, in our end of year ESG Club coverage.
