The £90m Global Marine Systems Pension Scheme has chosen Aon Hewitt as a delegated investment consultant.

The firm, which installs undersea cables for the telecommunications industry, has chosen the consultant to provide delegated investment consulting services and advice on flight planning for its 450-member scheme.

Global Marine Systems trustee chairman Roy Webber said: “Our scheme was in need of a more dynamic approach and the Aon Hewitt team demonstrated that it could provide this, with a review of our strategy leading to a flight plan and more active asset allocation. Their delegated services offer us both the option to plan ahead with our scheme more effectively and to make the most of market opportunities.”

Aon Hewitt partner Sion Cole said: “With the Global Marine Systems scheme we were able to offer fiduciary services that can be tailored to its specific needs, not just a standard, off-the-shelf approach.”
