LGIM – Q1 2022 ESG Impact Report – Global engagement that aims to deliver positive change
23 May 2022
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine during the first quarter of 2022 has shocked the world. LGIM’s thoughts are with the Ukrainian people and all those affected by the conflict.
From an investment stewardship perspective, LGIM is engaging with the companies impacted – as they would in the event of any situation that has a material impact, whether manmade or natural. LGIM is discussing a broad range of issues which include, for example, the treatment of employees, management of supply chains and adherence to sanctions and due diligence. Regarding voting, they will continue to operate in line with global sanctions, and will be looking to work with regulators globally to understand their longer-term approach to the exercise of voting rights at affected companies.
