The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) has unveiled PTL managing director Richard Butcher as its next chairman.
Butcher, who has worked in the pensions industry for three decades, succeeds Lesley Williams who leaves the role in October after two years.
Butcher said he is “humbled” by the appointment to champion the pensions industry.
“Looking to the future, I intend to build on the hard work of the association members, the councils and committees and the executive of the PLSA to ensure that we continue to inform the debate and represent the views and interests of our members,” he added.
Williams, who is also director of pensions at Whitbread, said she has worked with Butcher at the PLSA for years and believes his knowledge and insight will be a considerable asset to the organisation.
“He will be invaluable as the PSLA continues to push for market innovation and works to ensure that members’ views are well represented in Whitehall and Westminster,” she added.
